When Elk Grove Village agreed to sponsor Olympic athletes at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, we had two goals in mind. First, support the amazing athletes of the USA Track & Field, USA Wrestling, and USA Triathlon. Second, promote EGV Business Park as the premier destination for technology and manufacturing companies. It's safe to say we achieved both of these goals.

The three teams EGV sponsored went on to win an impressive 37 medals at the games. Track and Field took home 26 medals (7 Gold, 12 Silver, 7 Bronze), Wrestling earned nine medals (3 Gold, 2 Silver, 4 Bronze), and the Triathlon team earned two (1 Silver, 1 Bronze) as well. The tally put EGV fourth amongst corporate sponsors behind household brands like Toyota and Nike.

From a branding standpoint, the partnership with these teams helps drive awareness for Elk Grove Village and the excellent benefits we can offer companies that choose to move here. The marketing campaign consisted of a blend of earned media and paid advertising spread out across various cable and digital channels leading up to the Summer Games.

"It was such a thrill to partner with USATF, USA Wrestling, and USA Triathlon. The performance of the athletes we supported exceeded even our high expectations. We salute every American athlete that represented our country in Tokyo this summer," said Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson.

"The opportunity to showcase all that Elk Grove Village has to offer businesses on an international stage helps us retain our own competitive edge as we work every day to recruit and retain top-notch businesses." added Johnson.

Elk Grove Village is proud to support dreamers. Congratulations to all the athletes who represented our country during this year's games!
